Aboveground Oil Tank Removal Process:
- Sign contract with QTS.
- QTS will file for township permits.
- Once permits are approved, QTS will schedule the project.
- QTS will mobilize crew and equipment to remove the oil tank.
- The technician will measure the contents of the tank.
- QTS will excavate to the top of the tank and then cut a hole so he can insert his pump.
- The oil in the tank will be pumped out of the tank.
- A bigger hole will then be cut so the technician can properly clean the sludge from the tank.
- The oil tank will be wiped down with oil only absorbent pads.
- Once the tank is dry it will be cut into pieces and removed from the basement.
- The fill and vent lines will be removed from the wall and the hole will be patched with concrete.
- Any visible copper lines will also be removed.
- After the township inspection, the tank will be removed and scrapped at a local scrap yard.
- A closure certificate will be issued by QTS and all proper documents will be sent to the township to close out the permits.
